Angela's passion for the law continued to grow and she left Capital One
in 2004 to pursue a career in law at the University of Richmond School
of Law. While in law school, Angela took several intellectual property
courses in order to retain her knowledge of the subject matter.
Additionally, Angela became active in her law school's efforts to
increase the existence of intellectual property at the school. She
joined the Student Intellectual Property Law Association in its year of
inception and became the organization's President during its second
year.
During her 1st and 2nd summers of Law School, Angela
returned to Capital One as a Legal Intern. She continued to do
Trademark law, but also branched out to work in other areas of the law,
including Employment Law, Contract Law and Patent Law.
In her
third year of law school, Angela interned in the Richmond Circuit
Court, with Judge Richard D. Taylor. In her role as an intern, Angela
drafted judicial orders, performed legal research, prepared memoranda in
preparation for Judge Taylor's docket and served as his primary contact
for cases coming before Judge Taylor's Court. Additionally, Angela was
the first intern at her law school to serve as a key point of contact
in a high-profile capital punishment case.
